The Schleiereulenpaar Matt on the trail has already started the weekend
with the Zweitbrut. The two adult birds have moved to this end in the second,
unoccupied nest box. To date, only one egg has been laid off. Next will follow
in the coming days.

Up to 5 today. It is great that we have a bunch of second-clutchers this season. All the more to help with our fixes as our other owlets fly the coop. :loveshow:

Beth, Sorry I didn't get right back to you, I have been out of town. Thanks for the info on Heligan, it's beautiful!! :girlluv: I read it twice and poured over the pictures. Hopefully Hannibal will turn out to be a nice daddy and have many beautiful children, and hopefully on cam so we can see them!!!

Beth and Kitten, thank you for all the pictures and information. There are so many cams that I didn't know about. So many cams, so little time......Oh, my house will never get clean. (I also watch Phoebe the hummingbird and she will be back in 74 days and the Norfolk eagles will be back on soon after that!!! oh, and the pandas!! and Africa !!! oh the cams!!! sorry I get carried away) :spingirl:

Those poor little BOT babies just can't seem to stay in the air at their home this year, poor things. I was gone for 3 1/2 days and when I return I see that one or the other fell out 3 times. THREE TIMES!!!!! These little ones must really think they are invincible!!!! geeeeesh I hope they make a bigger tray next year before one of the next generation breaks their little necks. I am just glad to know thay have something soft to land on. I love those little heart shaped faces. :hammock: Thanks again!!!!

Sea, AKA Julie

Thanks kitten, they are so cute, doing what it is they do!!!

BOT posted about 9 or 10 hours ago (not sure if they are 5 or 6 hours ahead of me) that the youngest was removed and would be checked over. Since so much time has passed, I am beginning to worry. I know this is the 2nd fall for this one, maybe more. Her poor little body may be sore... I wish they would post something, but am now afraid what they may post. On the upside they did say "to check it over", so that could be a very positive thing. Saying prayers and crossing fingers.

I only have a minute here to post, but the youngest if the BOT owlets has died. This is the one who fell out a couple times. It wasn't from the fall but from starvation. They seem to be getting plenty of food, so this seems odd, unless he just wasn't getting his share. There is a write up in the diary, if you have a chance to read it. So Sad.

Oh Kitten, a pigeon!! oh!! Like in the netherlands, but they fought for the space at the same time, not barn owls but stone owls. Maybe we will be able to watch a pigeon family!!

Oh I'm so sorry about baby I know its nature's way
BUT I don't have to like well we have 2 to concentrate on
Yes seahorse like over there in Netherlands last year the pigeons put the
nest inside and the owls went in and took care of them fast ,maybe by
putting the nest in the doorway the pigeons think it safer :smilesun:
